The past few days had been crazy. I mean that literally and figuratively.
The flood in some areas is yet to subside and before thousands of poverty-stricken Filipinos can even take a sigh of relief, here come two more storms.
To have no television at home is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because I avoid being bombarded everyday with yellow journalism and cheap dramas that rule the Philippine airwaves and it is a curse because in instances like emergencies, I have no way of finding out what’s going on out there.
Not having a television is by choice. I just don’t see the need for one. I can get my dose of news from the office. It’s a great thing to have access to online versions of newspapers and also, hearing the loud reports from other apartment units’ television is good enough for me.

The Filipino spirit is waterproof.
This tagline has dominated the social networking sites for a few days. I think its proliferation is due to the fact that it is very true especially during these trying times.
I’ve seen it many times before. Filipinos will figure out a way to make life a little better even amidst the most terrible of storms.
I’m praying that every one of them, those that were badly affected, to be able to regain whatever that they have lost and may they be blessed ten times over. Because God knows they deserve it.
